Drain Unblocking
Blocked sinks, toilets and outside drains cleared, with dig and no-dig drain repair when the pipe itself has failed.

Fat, scale, roots and silt scoured off the pipe wall with high-pressure water, using jetting equipment Norbert owns and runs himself.
Rods punch a hole through hard build-up; a jet scours it off the pipe wall. Norbert owns and runs the jetting equipment himself, for fat, scale, roots and silt.

Most blocked drains clear with rods. Some keep blocking, because the build-up behind the blockage stays put. Rods punch a hole through it, water flows for a while, then the gap closes again.

A hose goes in from a manhole or rodding point. Rear-facing jets pull the nozzle along, forward jets cut into what is ahead, and on the way back the whole pipe wall is scoured.

Jetting deals with the build-up itself, not just the blockage in front of it. These are the materials it washes out of drain runs, gullies and chambers.

Jetting is the heavier end of the job. If your drain has simply blocked, start with drain unblocking, and Norbert brings the jetter when what he finds needs it.

Plumber, start to finishHardened fat lining the pipe wall cut away and flushed through, rather than just punching a hole in it.
Mineral scale and compacted silt broken up and washed down the run to restore the full bore.
Fine root growth at joints cut back with a rotating or cutting jet head suited to the pipe.
Yard gullies, soakaway runs and silted chambers washed out so water can get away again.
A look inside with his own CCTV camera to confirm the run is clear and see what caused the build-up.
No call centre and no hand-offs. The same man takes the call, quotes the work and does it.
Tell Norbert what is happening. He rings back himself to ask the questions that matter before anyone drives out.

Rodding pushes flexible rods through the drain to break up a blockage, which works well on soft material such as paper and wipes. Jetting sends water at high pressure through a hose with a nozzle that drives itself along the pipe, scouring the whole internal surface. Rods clear a path; a jet cleans the pipe wall. Hard fat, scale and silt need the second.
On a sound pipe, yes. Pressure and nozzle are matched to the pipe's material and condition. The risk is with a drain that is already badly cracked or has lost its shape, where jetting can dislodge loose pieces. That is why Norbert runs a camera through old or suspect runs, so he knows what he is jetting before he starts.
It can cut back fine root growth at joints, using a cutting nozzle. That clears the flow, but roots came in through a gap in the pipe and will grow back through it. For a lasting fix, the joint needs sealing, often with a no-dig patch from inside the pipe once the roots are cleared. Heavy, established root masses may need mechanical cutting first.
Usually because the blockage was cleared but the build-up behind it was not. Rodding through a fat-lined pipe leaves most of the fat on the wall, and the bore narrows again quickly. Jetting removes the lining along the whole run. If the drain still blocks after a proper jet, a camera survey will show whether there is a physical defect catching debris.
A single domestic run is often cleared within an hour or two on site. Long runs, heavy fat in a commercial kitchen drain or several silted chambers take longer. Norbert will give you a realistic idea once he has seen the access points and how much material there is, rather than guessing over the phone.
Yes. Pubs, restaurants, takeaways and shops with kitchens are where fat build-up is worst, and where a blocked drain costs the most in lost trade. Norbert can plan jetting before opening or after close, and some businesses have problem runs jetted periodically so they never reach the point of blocking.
A line about the job is enough. Norbert reads every enquiry himself and rings you back to talk it through before he quotes.
