Drain Unblocking has to answer that pattern properly. First it clears what is in the pipe. Then it finds out whether the pipe itself has failed. **What You Need To Know** - What to do first when a drain backs up out of hours - How a cleared drain is proven clear, on camera where needed - How shared runs, flats and pub kitchens change the job - Why a cracked pipe can be repaired without digging the garden - What makes a collapsed drain a dig and replace job Vision Plumbing is a sole trader plumbing, drainage and hot water business. The man who quotes your [drain cleaning in Maidstone](https://visionplumbing.co.uk/high-pressure-drain-jetting-maidstone/) is the same man who runs the camera, works the jetting equipment and does the repair. A toilet that will not clear, a sink backing up, a gully outside overflowing onto the path. Then it gets worse. Every flush and every shower adds to what is already sitting in the pipe. Stop using the water. Then call. ### What happens on the call-out Vision Plumbing runs a 24-hour emergency call-out. The plumber who answers is Norbert Barna, and he is the man who turns up with the rods and the jetting equipment. He owns that kit. It is not hired in for the night. Most blockages clear from the nearest access point without lifting a single slab. Fat, wipes and silt come out. Flow comes back. ### Knowing it is clear Clearing a blockage and proving it are two different jobs. Running water through and watching it go is the minimum. Where a drain keeps blocking, his own CCTV camera shows what is left in the pipe and whether the pipe itself is the problem. You see it on the screen. No guessing. **Get a quick quote from Vision Plumbing for drain unblocking in Maidstone, and the same plumber who runs the camera will tell you whether your drain needs clearing or repairing.** [Get a quick quote](#contact)[Call Now: 07379 636676](tel:+447379636676) ## Domestic and Commercial Drainage Services in Maidstone ### Houses, flats and shared runs The awkward drains are the shared ones. Think of a terrace where one run serves several houses, or flats with a stack that every floor drains into. Or a garden with the inspection chamber under a patio somebody laid years ago. The shape of the job changes with the building. A single house usually means one access point and one run. A shared run means finding where the blockage sits before anyone blames a neighbour. ### Pubs, shops and landlords Commercial drains fail at the worst hour. A pub kitchen backs up before service, a shop toilet goes out of use, or a tenant rings the letting agent. Downtime is the real cost. So the work is planned around your access hours. The heavier fat and scale that rodding will not move goes to the jetting equipment. Landlords and letting agents get one plumber across all their properties. ### One plumber, one patch If you want a drain plumber near you in Maidstone who quotes the job himself, this is how it works. From Maidstone over to Sevenoaks it is one patch and one plumber. Whether it is drain unblocking in Maidstone or a [blocked drain cleared in Sevenoaks](https://visionplumbing.co.uk/resources/drain-unblocking-sevenoaks/), households get the same man. The area runs across Kent, Medway, Surrey, East Sussex, West Sussex and south-east London. Nothing north of the Thames. ## Drain Repairs and Replacement ### Blocked or broken Here is the hard part. Some drains block because something went in. Others block because the pipe has cracked, shifted at a joint or been broken by roots. Clearing the second kind only buys you a few weeks. Then it blocks again. ### The no-dig repair A blocked drain is usually cleared without touching the garden. And a cracked pipe or a failed joint can often be repaired from inside, through the existing access, with no trench across the lawn. The camera decides it. It shows where the damage is, how long the damaged section runs and whether the pipe around it is sound. ### When digging is the answer A collapsed drain is different. Once the pipe has lost its shape there is nothing left to repair from inside, so that section is dug out and replaced. Norbert does both the dig and the no-dig work, so the method follows what the pipe needs, not whatever kit happens to be on the van. Every job carries a one year warranty on parts and labour. It depends on what is in the pipe and where it sits. A simple blockage near an access point often clears on the first visit. Fat, scale or roots need the jetting equipment and take longer. If the camera shows a broken pipe, the repair is a separate job, and you are told that before any work starts. Read more: [How long does it take a plumber to unblock a drain?](https://visionplumbing.co.uk/how-long-does-it-take-a-plumber-to-unblock-a-drain/) ### Does the council deal with blocked drains in Maidstone? Not usually for a drain on your own property. A drain that serves only your house is normally yours to clear. A shared or public sewer is normally down to the water company, not the council. On a shared run, the camera shows where the blockage sits, and that settles whose problem it is. ### What does it cost to get a drain unblocked in Maidstone? There is no fixed figure, because no two blockages are the same job. A quote follows a conversation. You describe what is backing up and where, Norbert asks the questions that matter, and you know what the work involves before he starts. Every job carries a one year warranty on parts and labour. We set out [what it costs to get a drain unblocked](https://visionplumbing.co.uk/what-does-it-cost-to-get-a-drain-unblocked/) in a separate guide. ### Can you unblock the drains at a Maidstone pub or shop without closing us for the day? The work is planned around your access hours wherever the job allows it. Kitchen drains choked with fat go to the high-pressure jetting equipment, which he owns and does not hire in. If a drain gives up the night before opening, the 24-hour emergency call-out covers it. Downtime matters. It shapes the plan. ### How do I unblock a main drain myself? Lift the inspection chamber cover and look. If the chamber is full, the blockage is further down the run. If it is empty, the blockage is between the house and the chamber. Rodding from the chamber clears some blockages. If the water keeps rising, stop and call, because pushing harder can damage a pipe that is already cracked. - [Home](https://visionplumbing.co.uk/) - [Resources](https://visionplumbing.co.uk/resources/) - Drain Unblocking in Maidstone #### On This Page #### Need A Hand With This?
